Pristina, Kosovo, Mar. 22, SPA -- Explosions damaged two U.N. police stations and several vehicles in Pristina Friday, but no casualties were reported, United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) police said.

The bomb-attacks targeted two police stations. But the motivefor the attack was not immediately clear.

Meanwhile, German peacekeepers in Kosovo confiscated some 50,000 rounds of ammunition early Saturday - one of the largest weapons caches seized by NATO troops since their deployment in 1999.

"German troops captured some 120 boxes, containing 49,500 rounds of ammunition early on Saturday. The unidentified persons tried to smuggle the ammo in several boats from Albania", Petter Votnyak told reporters.

The smugglers managed to flee to Pastrik Mountain nearby, after they were detected by Kosovo Force (KFOR) helicopters.

"This is one of the biggest cashes of weapons KFOR confiscated since its deployment in 1999", Votnyak said.

Kosovo has been under U.N. administration since the withdrawal of Serb troops in 1999. Some 4,500 U.N. police officers have been deployed in the province to help keep the order. --SPA2032 Local Time 1732 GMT
